Pillar: Autonomy


The problem

A user with assets on two chains has two completely separate automation stacks. A strategy involving assets on Ethereum and Arbitrum requires separate keepers, separate monitoring, and separate execution logic on each chain.

Bridges introduce latency, failure modes, and trust assumptions that no automation standard accounts for.


Why it matters

  • Autonomy: My strategy cannot follow my capital across chains.
  • Safety: Cross-chain positions create failure modes that single-chain automation cannot protect against.

What exists today

Cross-chain messaging protocols (LayerZero, CCIP, Axelar) exist at the infrastructure layer. No application-layer automation standard built on top.


The gap

No standard for cross-chain intent persistence and automated execution.


Open questions

  • Is this primarily a tooling problem or an infrastructure problem?
  • What trust assumptions are acceptable in a cross-chain automation context?
